Information for Teachers

The Children’s Water Festival in Greeley is a free event and is still for 4th grade students in Weld, Morgan and Adams Counties. The water festival brings water professionals from around Colorado to provide presentations and activities about water, conservation, human health, and aquatic life, while covering a wide range of curriculum areas including language arts, math, science, social studies, visual art, and health. We anticipate 850 fourth graders from Adams, Morgan and Weld counties will participate in this event. All participants will receive a free t-shirt to wear on the day of the festival.

Water Festival teacher registration is open September through December.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Leann Koons at leannk@nwcwd.org or 970-356-3020.

More Information

The water festival committee understands that Colorado state education standards have changed, but has decided to keep the festival for 4th grade students. The committee is adapting the festival to include energy and history into presentations and exhibits. Programs will also highlight 21st century skills such as critical thinking and reasoning, information literacy, collaboration, self-direction, and invention.

Assistance with Transportation Costs

We want you to be here! We know that school funding for field trips is often limited. There are a few programs that will help pay for transportation costs.
